  1.  The First Land Co-op Subcommittee Biannual Report

  4.  The Land Co-op is a pivotal part of the Orgone Committee's plan
  5. for the 90's (ev).
  6.  
  7.  We propose to create a community, based on the following
  8. principals:
  9.  
  10.  1. To foster the physical, mental, and spiritual evolution of the
  11. people living as members of this community directly, and people in
  12. other places indirectly as an example of a new archetype for
  13. living. Most simply put, we will be developing a society that is
  14. itself evolved as to have room in it for individuals who have
  15. developed all possible aspects of their personalities. A society
  16. that needs many specialized individuals in a rigid hierarchy is
  17. closer to the insect hive than a society that prepares its members
  18. for many functions in a network of relationships based on talent.
  19. This will be done lingually, politically, culturally, economically,
  20. religiously, sexually, biologically, neurologically,
  21. technologically, magickally.

  23.  2. Create a social contract allowing maximum energy access for the
  24. maximum number of people. By this we mean money, property,
  25. electrical, etc. 
  26.  
  27.  3. Create direct access to new maps of reality by speaking and
  28. learning a new language.
  29.  
  30.  4. Forge and foster a successful internal economy in this
  31. community which shall be centered around complete energy and food
  32. self-sufficiency.
  33.  
  34.  5. Aid the goals of the Political Action Subcommittee by giving
  35. them a workable model for small community building blocks.
  36.  
  37.  6. The legal structure of this coop is to be a cooperative.
  38. Everyone will own their own parcel of land and home, and there will
  39. be community held property such as the power generating equipment,
  40. roads, etc. Depending on the advantages/disadvantages offered by
  41. each strategy we may adopt any number of structures above this such
  42. as church, or S chapter, or not-for-profit, or nonprofit legal
  43. status. These will be researched in turn.

  45.  The Land Coop concept is the capstone to the pyramid of projects
  46. wherein we currently concentrate on how to implement our
  47. hypotheses, theories, and intuitions about how to create the best
  48. possible environment to foster human evolution.
  49.  
  50.  Linguistically: we are beginning to create a New Language. It is
  51. verbal, manual (based on American Sign Language) and glyphic. It
  52. is an attempt to consciously reshape the mental maps imposed by
  53. languages. More research is needed! We need a language for all
  54. members of the land coop to allow  for 
  55.  
  56.  a) More efficient communication
  57.  
  58.  b) More efficient thinking and conscious expansion and
  59.  
  60.  c) Solidarity.
  61.  
  62.  Familial: We reject the idea that the nuclear family is the only
  63. or even the best way. We need to establish new archetypes. What are
  64. the alternatives? How have they worked? 
  65.  
  66.  Politically: Our ideas around this are for a computer/video/media
  67. cyberdemocracy. Diversity. Competing interests that keep each other
  68. in check. 
  69.  
  70.  Culturally: Between video, music, visual arts of every kind,
  71. magazines, books, pamphlets, and whatever springs up we expect that
  72. to take care of itself!
  73.  
  74.  Economically: Energy self-sufficiency, food and as total self
  75. sufficiency as possible. Community ownership of certain things,
  76. personal ownership of other things. Less rich and poor.
  77. Decentralization as much as is possible. Diversity. 
  78.  
  79.  Educationally: Teach people how to think and give them an
  80. environment that encourages them to do so. It shouldn't be too hard
  81. to come up with something better than what exists in the school
  82. systems in America today.

  84.  Religiously: Many different faiths, all jockeying for power to
  85. keep each other in check! 
  86.  
  87.  Biologically: health maintained. Life extension. Many alternate
  88. practitioners. Pure food, water, air. 
  89.  
  90.  Ecologically: Respect for the environment. No waste! Lots of room
  91. for people to mutate in their own ways! 
  92.  
  93.  Technologically: High High High tech as possible! Technology is
  94. a key to this aeon of human evolution. It is changing everything
  95. more than anything else, both for good and bad. 
  96.  
  97.  Neurologically: All of the above. None of the above.
  98.  
  99.  Sexually: Diversity expected! See Reich. Make up your own mind one
  100. way or another. We desperately need new archetypes that free us
  101. from the patriarchal\Osirian idea that a heterosexual dyad/nuclear
  102. family is the only proper way for humans to bond/breed.

  104.  Magickally: All of the above.
  105.  
  106.  We need information about
  107.  
  108.  Locales in the U.S., good for this land coop. For the Political
  109. Action Subcommittee the following is necessary:
  110.  
  111.  1. Low population density.
  112.  
  113.  2. Rich in farmland, long growing season and solar, wind,
  114. hydroelectric, and geothermal if possible. 
  115.  
  116.  3. Far from major nuclear targets.
  117.  
  118.  4. Any other natural resources or good positioning for other
  119. reasons? Legal, economic, transportational, game & hunting etc?
  120.  
  121.  5. Rural or small town or other?
  122.  
  123.  6. Local ordinances regarding own energy, business, education of
  124. own children, building.
  125.  
  126.  7. Local religous background of folks.
  127.  
  128.  8. Major local industries, economic trends?
  129.  
  130.  9. Political behavior in area.
  131.  
  132.  10. Information about where other groups, communes, covunes, etc,
  133. are set up. All info possible.

  135.  People specializing in engineering, computers, linguistics,
  136. farming, education, sociology, psychology, medical, security,
  137. economics, business administration, law, mechanics, architecture,
  138. crafts, video producing, arts, 
  139.  
  140.  For the Land Coop, all of the above information is needed plus
  141.  Psychopharmacology, Artificial Intelligence, martial arts
  142. teachers, farmers, and Technicians of every kind. Feel no shyness
  143. about contacting us with information about your skills and other
  144. assets should you be interested in getting involved.

  146.  Diversity
  147.  
  148.  Freedom is relative to the number of options you have. As an
  149. evolutionary strategy we have adopted diversity. Decentralize as
  150. much as possible. Give as many people as possible a fair chance at
  151. a successful life.

  153.  The Thelemic Formula: maximize combinations = maximize
  154. possibilities and/or options. This is inevitable in a society that
  155. is attempting to align itself to the evolutionary trend of higher
  156. capacity for the individual as the unit of society. 
  157.  
  158.  By combinations I mean any kind of interactions. Examples: When
  159. two chemicals react. When two people make love. When you eat
  160. something. Genetically speaking the more available combinations of
  161. genes the more possible it is for new evolutionary avenues to open.

  163.  Ecological Responsibility
  164.  
  165.  We must as individuals be prepared to make changes in our daily
  166. lives to make it possible for the environment of this planet to
  167. continue to sustain us. Here in Brooklyn, New York City, the
  168. municipality has finally begun to get involved with recycling
  169. bottles, cans, and paper. They distributed plastic blue cans for
  170. collecting. There's just a little more work to do. When I throw
  171. something out, I have to choose to put it in the regular garbage,
  172. or the recycling bag. I have to remember to put the blue can out
  173. on another day than the regular collections. This is the very first
  174. of the kind of adjustments that we will have to increasingly make
  175. as the resources of our world continue to be mismanaged and
  176. squandered as much as they are now.

  178.  Sexual Revolution
  179.  
  180.  New archetypes of sexual roles and behaviors. Sexual revolution
  181. is as necessacary as technological, economic, political revolution.
  182. To quote N. Dorfin: "...What about being quiet when you jerk off
  183. so no one else will hear? If you can get people to do that, you can
  184. get them to do anything."

  186.  Evolution

  188.  The species has reached the point where more conscious control of
  189. our evolution is possible than ever before. The next step is into
  190. Space. We work to hasten the establishment of self-supporting human
  191. populations in other places than the surface of this planet. The
  192. new technologies that result from this will help us solve our
  193. problems here on Earth.

  196. have your own weird/fun/master plan which you might feel would
  197. benefit from sharing something with us.
